PBG presents Qwaya (b.1991), an artist with a substantial fan following with MZ collectors, in a solo exhibition. Viewers can immerse in a diverse range of the artist's works, which includes paintings, handcrafted ceramic pieces, and the artist's first art book.
This exhibition, in particular, is composed of narrative pieces that interpret our life as a 'play' from the artist's perspective. It includes intimate stories from the surroundings and crystallized thoughts. Qwaya's artworks, rooted in subjective records, breathe new life into everyday existence through sensory touches and colorful palettes, emphasizing the preciousness of the mundane in our life.

Qwaya

Qwaya's work, where daily observations are captured like writing a diary, is characterized by a variety of bright colors that convey a somewhat dark feeling. The figures in the artwork are all distinct individuals within each piece. Their enigmatic expressions, devoid of visible emotions, capture what the artist considers to be the most natural and genuine expressions.

Rondi Park examines the extremely personal traces surrounding desires and expands the category to popular sympathy and social phenomena. The artist who collects fragments of desire seething in a capitalist society and develops them into various media - such as painting, textiles, performance, and ceramics - develops her own narrative using the constantly reproduced desires as a medium.
