Artist Yi Yi Jeong-Eun captures the fleeting beauty of nature through layered paint and delicate brushwork. Her work aims to convey the raw energy and power of nature in an intuitive and synesthetic visual language. The technique of forming Matière by stacking layers of paint evokes the perception of nature from a distance and the realm of abstraction when viewed closely, creating a unique atmosphere between the two perspectives.

Her focus shifted to three-dimensionality, which refers to a process of emphasizing the act of drawing over the traditional flatness of painting. Initially, works resembling images of nature appear closer, characterized by blocks of paint and colors that cannot be comprehended at a glance. The artist transforms inspiration derived from nature into verbs of energy and action, which she arranges on the canvas to create a three-dimensional effect. This characteristic necessitates multiple close examinations of the work from various angles. YI YI Jeongeun holds a degree from the Department of Western Painting at Seoul National University and has had numerous solo and group exhibitions, exceeding 30 instances.
