ARTIST PROFILE

Lee Heejoh transforms pieces of everyday life into flat forms and rearragnes them on canvas. Objects, places, one's belongings, relationships, memories and emotions are key factors of the artist's work. Particularly, she calls the pieces of life puzzles. She sees them in a holistic view: they are one signel form and structure, rather than individual elements to disect or analyze. What is important in puzzles is that the possibility of connection to another, which is also why she finds similarity with our lives

Yi Yi Jeong-Eun focuses on translating the primal energy and vitality experienced in nature into an intuitive and synesthetic visual language. Through a deep exploration of materials and a study of colors and textures, she offers viewers an experience akin to facing nature itself. In her works, the technique of layering multiple coats of paint to create matière suggests the appearance of nature from afar, while up close, it evokes the realm of abstraction. This approach provides a unique visual experience that oscillates between these two perspectives.
