PBG is pleased to present “FOCUS 2023”, an exhibition, introducing artworks with outstanding potential to foster new artists. "FOCUS" started with “The Beginning”, a group exhibition which was held at the beginning of the year, introducing artworks of rising artists, who are active in the domestic and international art world. And as an attribute of the series exhibition, "FOCUS" aims to carefully select four young artists - Chansong Kim, Abang, Jaemin Lee, and Minkyoung Ji - and highlight them in one place.
The “FOCUS” exhibition carefully selected artists with distinctive formative language and presents diverse artworks of Chan-song Kim, who has been working on the subject of the body for a long time, Abang, who has expressed people with dreamy and colorful colors, Jae-min Lee, who captures autobiographical stories in his works with a delicate sensibility, and Minkyoung Ji, who deals with the formativeness of people and landscapes using Korean ink.
The four artists have something in common that they are standing between the process of exploring personal narratives from a unique perspective and establishing it using the artist’s distinctive pictorial language. We hope that this exhibition offers an opportunity to take a deep look into the world of the artists and their working methods and explore their capabilities and growth.
